Poking Along

Still in Alberta! Taking time to look at the wild Marsh Marigolds.

Finally the smoke has caught up with us here in Cold Lake. Only one smokey day where you didn't want to be outside. Really lucky so far.

I feel for those who have been evacuated from their homes, anywhere they may live. As well as the many animals affected by the wild fires.

Nature is beautiful but can be harsh and cruel.

Enroute I try to stop as often as possible for Chessa to get out but also to check out the small towns along the way.

In doing so, I have come across some pretty amazing things I'd like to share.

Weighing over 18,000 pounds and standing 20 feet tall,

Sure this is all 'super cool' Ma, but mostly odd and weird. You have taken a photo that makes me look like I have mushrooms growing out of my head!

Now can we find the largest lake or the largest bone??

We didn't find the largest lake or even a lake for that matter and no bones. However, as she does Ma found a trail to ride.

After the ride Ma spent a bit of time in town looking at the houses and checking out the Main Street. I don't get how it could take so long. The main street is only 2 blocks long.

Ma asked me to wait with MAWD for a few minutes while she went to the general store. I was quite happy to wait cuz I was pooped from this sleepy little town.

Oh here comes Ma now, just poking along eating an ice cream cone!
